Philosophy of Care

Care offered at Eden Valley Children’s Hospice is focused on respite day-care for children and young people who may not live to reach adulthood.

Support for the children and young people and their families is offered with both vision and experience, warmth and sensitivity in a home from home environment.

Eden Valley Hospice is a place for the living, where laughter and tears sit side by side reflected in our approach to the different needs and diversity of each child and their family

Partnerships of care with the child and family are fostered and promoted through contact teams and key worker support systems acknowledging and respecting parents as primary carers.

Children and their families can embrace the aspects of care, support and friendship that is best suited to the family.

Respect is offered sensitively to our young people affording an honest and flexible approach to meeting their specific needs.

Our care continues with bereavement befriending support for the family, giving recognition of the need to never forget.
