Roxanne is our special star

Roxanne donated over £58,000 to the Jigsaw Appeal thanks to her success in Soapstar Superstar and other donations she has given us. She also presented us with TV memorabilia which we have been able to sell to increase funds.

Roxanne's recent visit

The Emmerdale Actress has been a keen supporter of the Hospice and the Jigsaw Appeal in particular. On one of her frequent visits she spent considerable time with ten year old Joe Alecock and his family, and even gave an impromptu performance with Joe and the Hospice Karaoke machine.

Exclusive Interview

She also took time out of a busy schedule to give another of our ‘boys’ Andrew Mitchell-Hill an exclusive interview that you will not find in Reveal magazine. So here is our exclusive Roxanne Interview!

Andrew: Hello Roxanne are you okay?
Roxanne:  Very well thank you
 

Andrew: What do you enjoy doing when you come back to Carlisle?
Roxanne: Coming to the hospice and seeing all the gang. I see all my friends who I miss when I am away, I like going into town and going to john’s coffee shop where i used to work and getting hot chocolate!

Andrew: Have you always wanted to be an actress?
Roxanne: Yes- Absoutley. Ive always been a little madam. My grandma used to call me a little drama queen.

Andrew: Where would your dream holiday be?
Roxanne: In the winter it would be new York- ice skating in central park. In the summer it would be the Greek islands- somewhere with nice blue sea.
 

Andrew: What is your favorite food?
Roxanne: This will make you laugh- mashed potatoes, I love it with anything!!

Andrew: What is your favorite type of music?
Roxanne: Oh that’s a good one. I like all kinds of music- rock, pop, even country.

Andrew:. Did you enjoy Soapstar Superstar?
Roxanne: Yeah, it was one of the best weeks of my life, getting the money for the hospice made it even better.

Andrew: What is the best thing about working on Emmerdale
Roxanne: Doing what i love everyday having a voice to help people and speak out and Andy Sugdens muscles!!

Andrew: Who is your favourite football team?
Roxanne: Well it used to be Newcastle united but after today’s visit it might be Manchester united!!

Andrew: Do you enjoy coming to visit us at the hospice?
Roxanne: Yeah, I have the best time, I get really excited. You’re all really friendly, can I come back??!!
